My grandmother admits in her notes and letters that she did not realize information about Bachenheimer could have been found more easily and quickly by utlizing computers even though she and my grandfather had a computer. My grandmother simply did not understand how to use it. These emails were sent to my grandfather by various individuals who helped my grandmother find information. My grandmother did feel comfortable using computers at the local senior center in Buena Park, California because other people were there to help her; however, these are the only emails that were printed out and saved.

My grandparents finally started to use email to contact people in Holland as shown in this email from Klaas Russcher dated April 2, 2002.

Several emails are included here as they were all forwarded to my grandfather on May 31, 2002 and printed out June 5, 2002. One is from James McNamara to Steven Karras, who was filming a movie about Bachenheimer (which I cannot find). Mr. McNamara’s father served with Bachenheimer.

James McNamara was also in email contact with Bachenheimer’s widow Ethel, and Ethel printed the email, wrote a note to my grandmother, and mailed the email to her.
